Hundreds of games were developed for the Nintendo Gamecube since it was released in 2001. The games below are the games that I feel every Gamecube owner should have in their collection.
1. Super Mario Sunshine – The sequel to Super Mario 64 for Nintendo 64. Mario uses a water pack to levitate and shoot enemies. The best parts of the game don’t use the water pak at all and are pure platforming like in previous Mario games.
2. Pikmin – A new franchise for Gamecube inspired by Myiamoto’s garden. Control huge swarms of tiny plant creatures and throw them at enemies, solve puzzles, and try to rebuild your space ship.
3. Zelda Twilight Princess – The second Zelda game for the Gamecube, it has the same graphical style as Ocarina of Time and a more mature story line than Wind Waker (see below).
4. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat – A platforming game using the Gamecube Bongo’s as the controller. Probably the Gamecube’s most unique game.
5. Super Smash Bros. Melee – A deceptively simple fighting game for the Gamecube.Very deep single player and a four player game that is the best released on the Gamecube. It’s the best selling game on the system for a reason!
With any or all of these ten games in your collection, you should have hours of fun and definitely enjoy your Gamecube purchase.
Easy Steps to Buying a Gamecube Package
Executive Summary by JJ Hendricks
What are the best games to buy? Do you need extra controllers? Should you buy a memory card, or Gameboy Player? Games – After choosing the system, the biggest decision is what games will you buy to go along with it. Controllers – The Gamecube console originally came with one controller in the box but four slots for controllers. If you choose any of the games that allow four players to play at once, definitely buy three extra controllers. Memory cards are required to save your progress in a game. Nintendo made three different sizes of memory card, 4MB, 16MB and 64MB. I recommend a 16MB card for most people unless you are definitely buying sports games.
The player allows you to play any Gameboy, Gameboy Color, or Gameboy Advance game directly on your TV. This list should have helped you choose the games, controllers, and accessories you want to buy with your Gamecube.
